About
Stenton Estate
Lying on the north bank of the River Tay in a private yet highly accessible location on the southern fringe of the Scottish Highlands, Stenton is the consummate 21st Century country house that has been developed and enhanced by the owners to a superb standard.
Stenton provides the rare combination of an immaculate country house in a fine position with an abundance of outbuildings, and exciting sporting’s in the form of half a mile of premier quality salmon fishing. All whilst being in spectacular countryside of vast variety and beauty within an accessible location in one of Scotland’s most favoured counties.
Originally dating from the 18th century, the property is a stunning Victorian mansion with the original Laird’s house forming the family rooms, which was then altered and added to in Victorian times including the addition of a dowager house.
Stenton House is an exceptional country house enjoying a wonderful position overlooking its spacious lawns that extend to the banks of the River Tay. The house is accessed via two separate driveways, which both meet at a large gravel sweep lying between the house and the terraced garden. The house is built of dressed stone, under a predominantly slated roof, and has been comprehensively refurbished with great flair and imagination, and now represents a comfortable, stylish, and elegant family home of exceptional quality. Stenton House stands in a magnificent position with extensive lawns and grounds which lead down to the Stenton Beat of the River Tay. Salmon fishing on the Stenton Beat of the River Tay is available for house guests, subject to availability.
